Titanic Made in Belfast Festival

This year, the Titanic Made in Belfast festival will take place from Saturday 11 to Saturday 19 April 2009.

The ultimate Titanic festival, in the city where she was built, is a celebration of the ship, her city and the artisan skills of the people who created her.

The week long festival, which takes place annually, hosts a packed programme of events which include Titanic tours and special exhibitions.

Belfast City Carnival

This colourful carnival, through the city centre, celebrates the start of the new Belfast Lord Mayor`s term in office. Every year street performers and colourful floats bring droves of people into the city for this fantastic parade.
 

Tall Ships Atlantic Challenge 2009
Date: Thursday 13 - Sunday 16 August 2009

Venue: Clarendon Dock, Ballast Quay and Queens Quay
Belfast has been selected as the finishing port of the Tall Ships Atlantic Challenge in 2009. The event, which will be one of the most memorable and exciting in 2009, will take place over four days in August.

During this time, it is hoped that over 20 Tall Ships will visit Belfast, having travelled across the Atlantic from Halifax in Canada.

The Tall Ships event will be one of the most important events in Belfast during 2009. Those attending will have the opportunity to not only see the Tall Ships but have a highly enjoyable and memorable visit.

There will be plenty of activities for visitors along the quayside, with fun, food and frolics! Activities will include music, street theatre and a variety of magical performances for the whole family to enjoy.

Christmas Lights Switch-On

Celebrate the countdown to Christmas with our annual Christmas Lights Switch-On on Tuesday 17 November at Belfast City Hall.

The Lord Mayor will be joined by special celebrity guests to turn on the Christmas lights in the city centre.
